Delicious pho

After enjoying the gorgeous Lights at Lafarge at Coquitlam Town Park, Grayson and I decided that it was a good time to get a nice hot bowl of pho. We’ve gone for pho in Coquitlam before at Pho Phu Thinh Restaurant, but we wanted to try somewhere new so we settled on Delicious Pho. I mean with a name like that, it had to be good right?

Delicious pho menu

Unlike most pho places, the menu at Delicious pho wasn’t insanely large. It was about 5 pages with one page for each of the following options: appetizers, pho noodle soup, specialty noodle soups, rice dishes and vermicelli.

The pricing here was quite reasonable because it was about $8.50 for a small and $9.50 for a large portion of noodles. Walking around and looking at the bowls of noodles other people had made me think that they either had really large bowls for their noodles or they actually had big portions. Luckily, it was the later.

Salad roll

I was really hungry but the portions looked so large that I doubted that I would be able to finish a large bowl of noodles on my own so we opted to get a salad roll to share. The salad rolls here were quite packed full of ingredients. They were $2.50 each and had vietnamese ham, shrimp, lettuce and rice vermicelli noodles on the inside. It came with a side of peanut sauce as well.

Rare beef and flank noodle soup

Grayson decided to get a large bowl of rare beef and flank noodle soup. When the bowl first came to our table, it didn’t look very full. So, Grayson was worried that there wasn’t much substance to it. Fortunately after wiggling the noodles around for a bit, the bowl looked a lot better. Not to mention that we were given a heaped plate of bean sprouts to go with our noodles as well! He said that the rice noodles here were thinner than most pho places which was true because they were about 1/3 the width of the ones we were used to. We enjoyed it more this way though but it was a little more difficult to grasp with chopsticks.

Hot and sour seafood noodle soup

I went with the hot and sour seafood noodle soup in a small size. The soup wasn’t hot or sour persay because it was more sweet than anything. I didn’t mind though because I just added jalapenos and hot sauce to spice it up. The bowl had lots of veggies including carrots, broccoli and cabbage as well as an assortment of seafood (squid, imitation crab, shrimp and fish balls). This was a lot better than most of the seafood pho I’ve had before and I was very happy with my bowl of noodles.

Quick bites:

  1. large portions
  2. cheap prices
  3. will be back for sure
