Slurp Slurp noodle

Hello friends! Here’s another one from my adventures in Chicago! We were wandering around Chinatown looking for a good noodle shop and Slurp Slurp hand-pull noodle caught our eye because who doesn’t love slurping noodles?

Even though the location of Slurp Slurp noodle was in Chinatown, the decorations on the inside were quite modern with bright colours and murals on the wall.

Slurp Slurp noodle menu

As with most Chinese noodle shops, the menu was quite simple. They offered noodle soup and dry noodle options. After you choose your menu item, you get to choose between hand pulled noodle which are long or knife cut noodles which are a bit thicker.

Knife cut noodles with brisket

We decided to get two types of dry noodles because it was a hot day. The first one was knife cut noodles with brisket. It also came with red onions and boy choy to add in some colour. There wasn’t a huge amount of flavor to the noodles but they were chewy, thick cut and thin. Although there wasn’t a lot of pieces of brisket, the pieces we did have were soft and tender.

Pulled noodles with meat sauce

We decided to get pulled noodles with ground meat sauce for our second dish. The noodles were super long and soft. These ones weren’t as chewy but they were fun to eat because they were so long and stringy. There were a lot of noodles in the bowl which is good portion wise but there definitely could have been more sauce in the bowl so that each noodle could be covered thoroughly.

Luckily, we had condiments at our table. We had the option to add siracha, chili oil, black vinegar and pickled chinese cabbage to our noodles to add more flavor. I went crazy on the pickled cabbage because I love the stuff and it made all the difference to the noodles we had!
