Chocolate chip cookies are already marvelous on their own but adding in malted milk powder and chocolate covered malt balls take them over the top leaving you with soft, dense malted chocolate cookies that are out of this world.
This recipe isn’t anything new because I simply made adaptations to my M&M monster cookie recipe.
I mean, why try to create a whole new cookie dough recipe when your original one is already delicious right?
Malted milk powder is something that gives me a sense of nostalgia because I always had it with my breakfast growing up.
I never liked the taste of milk so adding in the malt really helped me get in my daily doses calcium, vitamin D, and all the other nutrients that are essential for any child’s development.
I think my mom secretly weaned me off the malt powder over time by adding in less and less because eventually I was okay with having regular milk. Moms always know how to be sneaky like that. I think I’m going to be one of those moms when I have kids.
I’m going to be sneaking in beets in chocolate cake, cauliflower in mash potatoes and pumpkin in bread. 🙂
What about you? What’s a treat that brings back childhood memories?

Childhood dessert? DEFINITELY Haagen Daaz vanilla ice cream and warm butter popcorn. SO good! I was a dairy fanatic. I also really liked cookie dough straight out of the fridge! These cookies look so soft and delicious!
Hmm, Milo is one of the things that takes me back to my childhood. which is also a chocolate malt drink and I am sure Milo would be good with these cookies, too. These are so good! :D Thanks for joining this week's FF, Cynthia. I hope you are having fun. :)
These look delicious. I love the inclusion of the malt powder and candies!
