Uncle Lu Richmond

Uncle Lu is located in Continental plaza in Richmond. It’s located in a corner spot so you’ll have to look close or you’ll miss it. Uncle Lu offers a variety of Chinese style dishes including entrees, rice, noodles and desserts. The restaurant has a few small tables for dine-in option and they also offer take-out.

Popcorn chicken noodle soup

Grayson ordered the popcorn chicken noodle soup. Luckily the popcorn chicken wasn’t served in the soup and in a separate container. The chicken broth that came with the noodles was very fragrant and you could smell it from the container. Grayson liked the soup because he said it was rich in chicken flavour and light.

The popcorn chicken was without a doubt the star of the show. The pieces of chicken were golden brown and crispy. They were all seasoned well but not to the point where they were too salty. Grayson liked how the pieces of chicken were bite sized so it was the perfect mouthful of food.

Hot and sour noodle soup

I ordered the hot and sour noodle soup because it’s been a while since I’ve had this soup. I was surprised to see that instead of a bowl of soup, it was practically a basin! There was a good 5-6 bowls of soup in there so I wasn’t able to finish all the soup in one sitting. This bowl came with yellow oil noodles which could have been cooked a little less because the heat from the soup made the noodles a bit too soft for my liking. The soup it self was thick and had the perfect amount of heat to it. It’s not something I’d order every time but it was well worth the $11.50!
