Tea 18 Burnaby is a bubble tea shop located along Kingsway. They offer Taiwanese style teas including yogurt drinks, fruit teas, and foam teas. I haven’t been there in awhile so I decided to give them a revisit on their one year anniversary!

Even though they have only been open for a year, they changed their menu to include new items. Their new menu features foam tea, brown sugar milk tea, yogurt drinks and summer exclusive drinks. One of our favourite things about Tea 18 Burnaby is their variety of homemade pearls! They offer original, caramel, brown sugar, matcha, black sesame, and rose bubbles to choose from.

Black tea with rose pearls

One of our favourite things to get from Tea 18 Burnaby is their rose pearls! They are a light pink colour and even has rose petals inside of it. Since the flavour of the rose is so subtle, we usually get it with a plain tea. They used to have a Ruby Black Tea but they no longer offer it on their menu. So instead we decided to pair it with a plain black tea. Grayson loved the drink as always because nothing beats rose pearls and you can’t get it anywhere else!

Milk tea with herbal jelly

I decided to try something different and got the milk tea with herbal jelly. I’ve tried their milk tea before in the past but found it watery so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Luckily, it wasn’t like that this time. The milk tea had robust dark tea flavour. The herbal jelly added earthiness to the drink and it was lightly sweetened as well.

Overall, our visit to Tea 18 was pretty good. The only downside was the service because it wasn’t great. The girl who worked at the front waited briefly in front of us as we were deciding what to order. A few moments before I was ready to order, she stepped away to do something else which I thought was very odd. There was also no other customers in the store and other people working as well. When she finally returned, I said my order but after saying it twice, she still punched it into the machine wrong. Luckily Grayson caught it before she put the order through otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to get the drink the way I wanted.
