Suntea Kingsway

Suntea fruit tea

A new Suntea location has arrived! Suntea Kingsway location is located in the Metrotown area. This location is much larger than the Kensington location with ample seating once dine-in opens up. For that reason I think I would prefer Suntea Kingsway if I was planning to go with friends.

Suntea Kingsway

The menu here is the same as the other Suntea location featuring milk teas, fresh fruit drinks, and fresh milk drinks. I love that they use fresh fruit in everything here and that is what sets them apart from all the other bubble tea spots in Vancouver.

At the other Suntea Burnaby location, I rarely ever see bread in the display case but it was not like that here. The pastry case was filled with their breads. They have savoury breads with cheese and chicken as well as sweeter ones with durian, chocolate and sweet potato.

I’m not sure if they have the same promotion at this location but the Burnaby location has BOGO for their bread after 9pm. Suntea also offers Japanese dorayaki pancakes but they were not in the display case on our visit.

Orange tea

When Grayson ordered this, I wasn’t too interested. I mean how good could orange tea be? Turns out, it can be absolutely amazing! This orange tea reminded me of my childhood. It had the perfect amount of fresh orange juice flavour and was super refreshing. Imagine drinking an adult version of Sunny D!

Grapefruit tea

Although another citrus fruit tea, the grapefruit tea was not as good as the orange tea. Since this was made with grapefruit, there were some bitter notes to the drink. Not one I would get again now that I have experienced that orange tea.

Strawberry lime tea

I didn’t order this drink sweetened and I immediately regretted it. It was much too sour from the lime! By the time I finished the drink, I realized that it was so sour because there was an entire lime in it! I suggest ordering this drink lightly sweetened if you want to try it out. What I did like about this tea was that there were fresh strawberries and jelly at the bottom.

Pineapple and passion fruit tea

I got this drink to compare it to the pineapple tea from Yi Fang. This pineapple tea had fresh pieces of pineapple in it along with with passion fruit seeds. The pineapple added a nice hint of sweetness and the passion fruit seeds added crunch.

Fleshy watermelon slush

I’ve been wanting to try the watermelon slush for the longest time and have finally been able to get my hands on it. This watermelon slush reminds me of summer but I wish there was a little bit more watermelon flavour to it. The drink had jelly and white pearls at the bottom to add texture.

Fleshy honeydew slush

On a different day, I got the honeydew slush. Similar to the watermelon slush, the honey dew one didn’t have a very strong honey dew flavour. In addition to the jelly and pearls, this drink also had honey dew cubes on the bottom. This drink isn’t here to stay on the menu so make sure you try it before it goes away!

Fleshy strawberry and mango smoothie with coconut milk

I decided to save the best for last! This drink had chunks of sweet strawberries on the bottom and a delicious mango smoothie base. The thick coconut milk on the bottom helped mellow the drink out just enough for it to not be too sweet. The clear jelly and pearls in it made the drink the perfect blend of dessert and drink!
