Saigon Ivy

Lil’ bun, mother deer and I were in New West Uptown for the festival. Even though there were food trucks left right and center, we decided to go to a sit down restaurant instead since we were tired from walking around all day long. After searching around for a while, we stumbled upon Saigon Ivy, a Vietnamese restaurant.

I wasn’t too hungry so I decided to get the shrimp salad roll. They asked if I wanted the Vietnamese ham in it which I found interesting since they don’t normally ask you that.

Anyways, the salad rolls at Saigon Ivy were nothing special and could have used some more filling since they were $6 for two when at most places they’re about $5. They also offered a bbq chicken and vegetarian version of this at the same price.

Flank and rare beef noodle soup

Mother deer decided to get the flank and rare beef noodle soup. She was impressed with the amount of protein there was in the bowl but that’s to be expected since the bowl of pho was $10.50.

Rare beef and beef ball noodle soup

Lil’ bun decided to get rare beef and beef ball noodle soup. Lots of noodles, nice slices of beef, no complaints.

We thought that the prices here were more expensive by $1-2 compared to what we’d find closer to home. It’s probably because it’s harder to find Vietnamese cuisine in the area. We won’t be back since there are so many better and cheaper places in Vancouver
