Having a bowl of pho after walking around outdoors has been a trend for us lately because we did this a while back at Delicious Pho. Pho Goodness is a tiny shop located in the heart of Davie village. People usually go there for takeout so the small dining area isn’t much of a concern for regulars.
I can understand why most people go there for takeout though because the ventilation system in there wasn’t very good and it was quite stuffy and hot from the grill since they have an open kitchen in the middle of the dining area.
Their menu is pretty typically. You have your starters, beef noodle soup, specialty noodles, rice dishes, vermicelli dishes and banh mi. The only thing to note is that their noodles come in only one size but you can order extra noodles if you like.
Last time I got the lemongrass chicken pho and I thought that was pretty good but I wanted something less heavy this time so I went with the seafood one. This was the wrong choice because although the broth was lighter, the seafood was minimal and there wasn’t much going on flavor-wise. The white fish was overcooked and dry, the fish balls weren’t memorable and the shrimp were….shrimpy.
Grayson went with the brisket and rare beef noodle soup. He wasn’t fond of the portion size either because it was quite small but he was glad that the beef was actually rare when it came to the table and he got to cook it himself. The broth wasn’t anything too note worthy. He too regretted his decision and wished that he went with the curry chicken rice he was eyeing on the menu instead.
