Money Tea is a bubble tea shop that specializes in cheese foam drinks, jelly boba topping, fruit sodas and yakult drinks. Money tea is unique because they have yakult shaped containers for their yogurt themed drinks. They used to be located in Richmond but recently moved their location to Crystal Mall.

The menu at Money Tea is simple with a few flavour options per each category of their drinks. Their more notable toppings are peach gum and boba jelly which are healthy versions of your classic pearls. They are made with natural ingredients and they are advertised as being “low calorie”.

Rose oolong tea

Grayson ordered the Rose oolong tea because he’s never had a rose tea before. The tea was a nice amount of floral without tasting like soap. The oolong tea added earthiness for balance as well. He ordered the drink with pearls which he said were chewy and lightly sweetened. The tea also came with a tea bag which is good and bad depending if you mind your tea oversteeping.

Peach oolong tea

I tend to somehow always order Peach Oolong Tea as a brewed tea option when I go to tea spots. This tea was lightly fruity from the peach flavours and the oolong added a roasted undertone to the drink. I decided to get it with sakura boba jelly since it’s one of their unique toppings. The sakura added a nice pink hue to the drink and the jelly was chewy. Not the bouncy chewy from tapioca pearls but a “crunchy” type of chewy? I’m not sure how else to explain it but it’s an acquired texture for sure. I was a fan but Grayson said he prefer the regular pearls.

Overall, we both enjoyed our visit to Money Tea and would happily revisit them soon!
