Happy Lemon Richmond is located along Number 3 Rd by Richmond Centre. It’s been a while since we have visited Happy Lemon Richmond location so we decided to give them a visit. They were doing a few BOGO promotions on food delivery apps so we thought it was the perfect time to do so.
Kumquat Green Tea
The kumquat green tea was a new drink for the two of us. We thought that it might be too sweet with 100% sweetness but that wasn’t the case at all! Instead, the drink was lightly sweetened to balance out the tart citrus notes of the kumquat. It was the perfect blend of flavours.
When we ordered we decided to add toppings to our drink for $0.60. For the extra $0.60, we didn’t think there was a lot of topping in it. It was almost as though because we ordered a smaller size, they put less toppings inside. Which didn’t make sense to us because the price for toppings in a large size and medium size drink are the same.
Pineapple lemon green tea
I had high hopes for this drink but unfortunately it was disappointing. I ordered the drink unsweetened but it was cloyingly sweet from the “pineapple jam” that was on the bottom of the drink. I’ve had it before from other places but it has never been like this before. It was undrinkable after the first sip or two.
Original bubble waffle
Since we were both feeling a bit peckish, we decided to grab a bubble waffle to share. We’ve never tried the bubble waffles from Happy Lemon before so we decided to try it out. The bubble waffles here are hexagon shaped to resemble a lemon! I thought the packaging was really cute but I do wish that the waffle was full inclosed so it didn’t have germ exposure.
The waffle itself was one of the best I’ve had. The bubbles weren’t very filled but there were lots of crispy bits in between. As you got to the bottom, the waffle got less crispy, but it was delicious nevertheless! If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also order their bubble waffle with chocolate, matcha, pearls, and oreo!
