Delicious pho – yaletown

Grayson and I were craving Vietnamese food so we headed over to Delicious Pho in Yaletown. There aren’t a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in the area but we’ve tried Delicious Pho before in Coquitlam. So I knew that they had pretty good food so we decided to head Delicious Pho in Yaletown for a bite.

So originally we decided to go to Delicious Pho because we both wanted to have a big bowl of pho….but a funny thing happens when you start browsing menus because you end up getting something completely different!

Grilled chicken vermicelli

The two of us decided to get vermicelli bowls. Grayson got his with grilled chicken and I got one with grilled chicken and shrimp. We also decided to get a salad roll because unlike the pho, the vermicelli bowls only had one size so we weren’t sure if there would be enough food to eat.

In my opinion, you get more noodles if you order the pho, but you also get more fresh veggies if you get the vermicelli bowl so I guess it evens out that way. The reason why I get vermicelli bowls is because I’m obsessed with fish sauce. Unfortunately, the one here was much too sweet and didn’t have any acidity to it at all. Then I started missing the amazing one from Mr. Red Cafe. They make theirs with so much lemon, chili and garlic that it’s addicting.

With that being said, there was a good amount of protein in both of our bowls. The chicken thigh had just enough char on the edges and it was marinaded so it was flavorful. I’m pretty sure the shrimp was cooked by being dropped in the fryer so that was disappointing but they were golden brown at least.

Not sure if we’d get the vermicelli bowls again but the pho here is amazing
