Boba Run

Boba Run has been a spot that I’ve been wanting to try out for the longest time! This bubble tea shop is located in downtown Vancouver near gastown and is such a treat. Boba Run specializes in their matcha, dalgona and sparkling tea drinks. Each drink is made to order so there is none of that pre-made milk tea here! They also offer oat milk as an alternative which is awesome!

Matcha Strawberry milk

This was one of their top matcha drinks and for good reason. Each drink starts with a layer of fresh strawberry puree and topped with freshly made matcha tea. I love that they whisk their matcha to order and it sits so perfectly on top of the ice. I wasn’t sure how I was going to like it but I’m so glad I ordered it because it was so yummy! The brightness of the strawberries was perfectly balanced with the earthiness of the matcha. I’d get it again in a heartbeat if it wasn’t $7.50!

Dalgona matcha milk

Dalgona is another specialty of Boba Run so we had to order it. We were told that you were supposed to let the dalgona slowly melt into the drink so it would have caramel notes in it over time. In all honesty, we totally fished out some chunks of dalgona to munch on before letting them dissolve in the drink. The dalgona chunks were sweet with a hint of bitterness. Grayson said the matcha flavour was too strong in the beginning without any sweetness but as it melted it got better.
