Zeus Greek Taverna is located in Burnaby Heights. It’s a new Greek restaurant that has opened up recently so we decided to give it a try. Zeus Greek Taverna offers appetizers, entrees, set meals, cold plates, hot plates and dessert.
Each set meal from Zeus comes from rice pilaf, pita bread, taziki dip and roasted potatoes. The chicken was a little on the dry side but the lemon juice helped bring it back to life. The taziki dip had the perfect amount of Greek yogurt, cucumber and garlic as well. I suggest dipping the chicken in the sauce if it’s still on the dry side. The rice pilaf on the other-hand was amazing! It was fluffy and had the perfect amount of seasoning. The start of the show was definitely the roasted potatoes. They were extremely soft and full of herby flavour.
Similar to the chicken meal, this came with potatoes, taziki, rice pilaf and pita bread. The beef skewers were also on the dry side so we weren’t too fond of them. They had a bit of a spice to them and had a different seasoning than the chicken skewers.
Overall, our meal was alright. It wasn’t anything note worthy and I think that they make their skewers ahead of time or these ones were overcooked by accident. For Greek food in Burnaby, I would prefer Minoas Tavern by Metrotown.
