Sushiville is actually one of my favorite places to go for sushi because not only do they have tons of unique rolls, but it’s pretty portion size friendly! I just like going to Sushiville because they offer you the option to upgrade your rolls to being “giant” for only $2 more.

Sushiville menu

Assorted tempura

These were definitely approved by all of us. They were all battered lightly and fried to crispy perfection. And by assorted, they really did mean assorted because there were shrimp, pumpkin, yam…and even banana! Both sweet and savory!

Tako tataki

I’ve never seen this dish served anywhere else before and being the adventurous person I am, I just HAD to order it to try out! The octopus wasn’t tough or chewy. It had the perfect amount of sear on them so it was a happy medium between raw and cooked preparation. The sauce it came with was a light ponzu with thinly sliced raw onion.

Ika sugiyaki

We got this last time and thought it was absolutely delicious so how could we not get it again? The squid is grilled wonderfully tender and there was a perfect amount of bbq sauce on top so that you could taste the smokiness of the squid still

Deluxe sashimi

As with the other visit, all the sashimi was pretty decent for the price we paid for it. It wasn’t super high quality or anything but it was a lot better than some of the restaurants who serve the sashimi at a similar price point.

Chicken udon

Nothing too special here, just your standard udon with a few pieces of chicken thigh in it.

Special combo A

Hawaiian roll: avocado, crab, fried banana topped with mango, peanuts and almonds

This was the adventurous order of the day. Lil’ bun wanted to try this roll and I wanted to have spicy tuna sashimi so this was the perfect combo to get! The hawaiian roll didn’t have much banana flavor to it so even banana hating brother deer was able to eat it with ease. Lil’ bun liked it but thought it could of had more of a “tropical” flavor because she couldn’t taste the mango in it either.

Crunchy roll

lettuce, cream cheese, cucumber, avocado, crab, prawn tempura, yam tempura

We couldn’t go to Sushiville without getting our roll upgraded to giant size! This roll was super hefty and was a total struggle to keep together and eat in one bite but totally worth it when we did!

It was packed full of ingredients and definitely crunchy since it was topped with loads of tempura bits

Motoyaki roll

cucumber, avocado, crab topped with fried oyster and cheese

They didn’t skimp on the fillings on this one for sure and every single roll had a baby fried oyster on it! We actually got this roll because we thought that getting oyster motoyaki separately was too pricy ($2.50 each). This ended up turning out great because this roll was such a good deal! I mean we got to have both oyster motoyaki AND our sushi in one go!

On another visit I decided to get the spicy salmon salad. I asked for the dressing on the side though in case it was too sweet. It was made up of chili paste and sesame oil.

Beef teriyaki roll, spicy chicken roll and dynamite roll
