Personas

Grayson and I have been visiting Grand Villa Casino lately after work to take advantage of the coupons we’ve been getting with our Encore cards. Sometimes we go to Alpina but today we decided to go to Personas instead.

We decided to get a bunch of appetizers at Personas and call it dinner since we each had a buy one get one free appetizer coupon.

Ebi shrimp tempura

We started off with the Ebi shrimp tempura. Old bean said that those are a must have at Personas and he usually doesn’t recommend anything so I decided to give them a try. The shrimp was lightly battered so that you could still have the crispiness of them being fried and taste the freshness of the shrimp themselves. Unfortunately, the heaviness of the mayo did take over the flavor of the shrimp if you end up with a piece that had more of the sauce. With that being said, I’d get these again.

Sticky ribs

Next up were the sticky ribs. These were on the dry side even though they were supposed to be marinaded with Korean galbi sauce. Wouldn’t get these again.

Carnivore flatboread

We had a few flatbreads after that because we wanted to have enough food to be full for dinner. We started off with the carnivore pizza. This reminded us of a pepperoni pizza but with bacon on top. It could have used a little more sauce though because the tomato sauce didn’t come through the thick layer of cheese on top.

Tropic Thunder

The tropic thunder was my favorite flatbread. It had chicken, alfredo sauce, pineapples, bell peppers and barbeque sauce. I could have done without the barbeque sauce though because it ended up being too much going on. I had a piece without it and it was great! I’ll probably ask for it on the side next time. I liked how the bell peppers added crunch and I don’t care what anybody says, pineapple is good on pizza.

Shrimp flatbread

Last but not least was the thai shrimp flatbread. This one was a bit of a wild card and we didn’t know what to expect. Each piece of flatbread had a piece of meaty shrimp on it (yay!). It also had lots of pesto and lemon grass sauce on top. The whole pizza was actually quite confusing because there were too many sauces on it which muddled all the flavor. Sometimes less is more you know?
