Yum nom nom. I managed to get my hands on a bunch of tasty pastries from Peqish the other day and my, my, am I hooked on them! Peqish offers fresh, healthy, homemade treats on the go. They have all sorts of sandwiches, baguettes, wraps, soups, salads, pastries, smoothies and even little mini booster cups and snack mixes for nourishing on the go!

Orange Berry Yogurt muffin

This one was lil’ bun’s favourite out of all the muffins we got to try. She said that it was really moist in the inside (probably because of the yogurt) and that there was a truckload of berries inside. I mean just look at how many there are on top! Even though she’s not a fan of citrus flavors, she actually liked the orange in it because it added brightness to what resembled a blueberry buttermilk muffin.

Blueberry Banana Bran muffin

This one was mother deer’s favourite because she’s not a fan of sweet muffins. Although the muffin had a banana and bran base, she didn’t think it was too prominent of a flavour in the muffin and the blueberries were still able to shine through. She also mentioned that there was an almost caramel-like undertone to the muffin as if they used brown sugar or molasses as the base instead of white sugar.

Tropical Carrot Nut muffin

This was my favorite muffin out of the three. It was packed full of carrots, pineapple, walnut, raisins, cinnamon, and topped with a nice amount of toasted coconut. The muffin is made vegan and with Peqish’s unique gluten free flour blend. So it’s practically good for me AND delicious? YES PLEASE!

Iced apple pie scone

The name of this scone served it right. It literally tasted like an apple pie. Packed full of pieces of diced apple and warm spices with just the right amount of icing on top to round everything out. When I gave this to lil’ bun to try I didn’t end up telling her it was gluten free because she’s usually averse to those type of “health trendy” things and she didn’t even notice anything different!

I definitely recommend going to Peqish if you’re downtown and looking for a healthy lunch or snack to munch on. They clearly take pride in the fact that they make everything homemade. Plus they definitely don’t skimp out on ingredient qualities.

I can’t wait to try one of their more savory offerings on my next visit!
